Bright Future Beckons For Jaguar

Iconic British carmaker Jaguar will unveil the brand new XF at the Frankfurt Motor Show this month. Fusing the outstanding performance of a sports car with the comfort and refinement of a luxury saloon, the XF certainly remains true to the traditional Jaguar philosophy of creating fast, beautiful cars. Yet it is also bristing with cutting edge design features and technological innovation, which make the XF one of the most sophisticated new vehicles around. The sweeping lines of the exterior are unmistakeably Jaguar, but despite its coup‚ styling, inside the XF is spacious enough to comfortably seat five adults. The engineering excellence and finely crafted instruments are everything one would expect from the world class manufacturer, and complement an array of leading customer friendly technology. Drivers can enjoy steering wheel mounted gearchange paddles, an industry-first rotary shift interface and even voice-activated navigation and telephone functions. The best torsional stiffness in its class delivers both refinement and dynamic performance - underpinning the driver-focussed yet remarkably comfortable driving experience. Mick Mohan, XF Chief Programme Engineer comments: "The interior of the XF is a combination of style and substance. It bristles with innovative, industry-leading features. From the smart technical solution of the JaguarDrive SelectorTM, through the seamless efficiency of rotating vents, to the simplicity of Touch-screen control, the XF proves aesthetics and function can work together in perfect harmony." The XF is due to be in showrooms in March 2008 and will be available from launch with a range of four engines,** all featuring Jaguar's proven six-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted 'paddles' for manual gear selection (Jaguar Sequential ShiftTM): - 2.7-litre V6 twin-turbocharged diesel: 0-60mph in just 7.7 secs (0-100kph in 8.2 secs) and a top speed of 143 mph; - 3.0-litre V6 petrol: 0-60mph in 7.9 secs (0-100kph in 8.3 secs) and a top speed of 148mph; - 4.2 n/a V8 petrol: 0-60mph in 6.2 secs (0-100kph in 6.5 secs) and a top speed electronically limited to 155mph; - 4.2 s/c V8 petrol: 0-60mph in 5.1 secs (0-100kph in 5.4 secs) and a top speed electronically limited to 155mph. Ford Unveils Vision Of The Future

Frankfurt Motor Show, September 11 2007 -- After the unprecedented levels of success witnessed by the company in 2006, all eyes will be on Ford at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show as they reveal three all-new models. First up is the new Focus. The car that started the kinetic design revolution has been given a makeover, complete with a radically restyled exterior, improved interior and revolutionary six-speed, double clutch transmission system. And thanks to a clever combination of fuel-saving measures, the Focus ECOnetic boasts an average CO2 emission of only 115 g/km, which is a class leading result for a conventional vehicle in this segment. With around 5 million vehicles produced in Europe, the Focus is the first and - to date - only car in the world to be acclaimed "Car of the Year" both in Europe and in North America. In total the Ford Focus has won over 80 awards in Europe alone. With this newest version of the Ford Focus due to begin rolling off the production lines from the end of 2007 as a 3-door and 5-door hatchback and as a wagon, this success story is set to continue. The Kuga is an exciting 4WD crossover vehicle inspired by the stunning iosis X concept revealed at the 2006 Paris Motor Show. Combining style and technology, the Kuga promises impressive on-road performance coupled with an impressive off-road capability. The fact that the Kuga will also be available as a front-wheel-drive only version simply emphasises the crossover concept of the vehicle. The Mondeo, S-MAX and Galaxy have all benefited from minor changes, including a new engine and 6-speed automatic gearbox, to provide a comfortable, convenient, yet still engaging driver experience. The Durashift 6-tronic is a compact, lightweight, electronically-controlled fully automatic stepped transmission with a choice of drive modes -- Sport and Manual. Finally the Verve Concept will also be on show, giving a strong indication of Ford's design vision for its next generation of small cars. It is expected to reach the production line largely unchanged by 2009. Produced for Ford Motor Company
